We play a wide variety of styles from ballads to rock to alternative -- with the latest charting songs in high rotation and a library of past hits & favorites. The music is aesthetically filtered for Western sensibilities. The DJ is an American raised on Classical, Rock, Top40, Punk, Alterative, Funk, Blues, Soul & Gospel. We often play worthy album cuts that were never hits and filter out the Cheesy songs - no matter how popular. Mandarin is the most-spoken native language in the world so it stands to reason that some of the best music in the world is in Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin Radio was launched on Live365 in 2002, at the time it was the only radio station dedicated to presenting Mandarin Pop music for English readers. All the song and artist information was translated to English and displayed with the stream. At one time it was the most popular Asian music station on iTunes Radio and Live365 and the most popular international radio station on Live365. It’s sister station, Pop Goes Asia, was launched in 2001 playing a mix of songs in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai and even some Vietnamese and Malay. In 2012 we discontinued our program on Live365 due to increasing royalty costs and reporting requirements. Our mission to share Mandarin (and other Asian music) moved to Twitter where we periodically shared songs with our followers. In early January 2016, we were informed that Live365 had discontinued service and most of the stations were moving to Radionomy. Upon investigation we decided to relaunch Mandarin Radio.

What could be the reason there is no sound?

1. Make sure your speakers and the media player are not muted :) Not an uncommon problem ;)
2. Please try again in another browser, preferably Chrome, Firefox and when using a windows media player option Internet Explorer.
3. Try another stream type clicking: windows media player or external player as alternative
4. Be patient, some radiostations load within 10-20 seconds due to high traffic issues.
5. If you do not have any flash player we automatically load the second best player, so again be patient.
6. If the stream doesn't start automatically please click the play button or the mp3 option on the right, please retry 1,2 or 3 times. Most of the times this works.
7. If you are using a windows media player, this will mostly only work in Internet Explorer.
8. A radiostation might be temporarily unavailable due to several reasons. If your favorite station is not working right now, please try again in a few moments.
9. The media player isn't showing/working in your browser, check below what you can do about it
10. Try another computer or device (tablet, phone etc).
11. Some radiostations have limited rights for international broadcasting. Some stations only broadcast in their own country. For example BBC in the UK and lots of stations in the US. If you really want to listen use a proxy server from that specific country to solve this problem.

Stream keeps on buffering
In Windows Media Player you can improve this. Go to Extra, Options, and then tab performance to extend the netwerkbuffer to 15 seconds.
