BLACKSTATES PROJECTS – EXPANDED HISTORY
1. The Origin of Blackstates (2017–2018)
The roots of Blackstates trace back to a high-school Chemistry lesson in Senior 2. During a topic on alkalines and atoms, the founder earned the nickname “Blackest,” which later evolved to General Blackest. This identity, tied to curiosity, resilience, and creativity, would eventually inspire the birth of the name Blackstates.
2. Early Vision for Media (2019)
In 2019, driven by passion for communication and digital creativity, the founder launched Blackstates Online TV, marking the first attempt at building a media brand.
However, the project faced challenges:
Limited resources
Academic commitments
The founder was still in Senior 5 at Busoga High School, Kamuli
Lack of stable equipment and funding
As a result, Blackstates Online TV could not continue sustainably. Yet, the failure became a stepping stone, planting the seeds for a larger vision.
3. Growth Into Multiple Sectors (2024)
By 2024, the founder had gained more skills, clarity, and discipline. This year marked a transformation and expansion beyond online media.
Two major ventures were launched:
Blackstates Saloon – a community-based grooming and beauty service brand.
Blackstates Empowering Community Organisation (BECO) – created to uplift communities through empowerment, skills development, and youth support.
These arms merged under a unified structure known as Blackstates Projects, positioning the brand as a multi-sector community and business initiative.
4. Establishment of Blackstates FM (November 2025)
In November 2025, Blackstates Projects officially launched Blackstates FM, a radio station built on the founder’s original media dream from 2019.
Blackstates FM became the flagship platform dedicated to:
Community information
Education
Music and entertainment
Youth empowerment
Positive, transformative media
The launch of the station marked the full realisation of a journey that started with a nickname and a dream.
